Dear Wendy Knowing you was a truly Wendy-ful experience. I’ll never forget all the fun and laughter we shared every time we met, wherever we were and whatever we were doing. Your record of wins against me at badminton back in the 1980s was magnificent! I treasure the great times we all had at ‘The Bells’ on so many Christmas Eves, playing games and being silly, and you revolutionised our lives when you taught us “Bonk” (don’t worry, folks - it’s only a card game!) The joy that you spread around you and all the happy memories will always be there for us. You were a unique and very special lady who deserved the best, and you were blessed with that by way of your fantastic family and with Ian, your ideal husband and soulmate. I’ve no doubt that your grandchildren will enjoy hearing all about you and your exploits and joie de vivre in the years to come. You had such lovely qualities and gave so many gifts to the world, which was a better place for having you in it. Your brilliant sense of humour, cheerfulness, strength and courage will always be an inspiration to us all. Thank you for being such an amazing lady and fabulous friend. Your Wendy-fulness enriched my life and that of my whole family. You’re a true star who shined - and continues to shine - on us all. Love you always, Stella xxx
